[[OpenOffice.org|http://es.openoffice.org]] es una suite ofimatica de software libre y codigo abierto que incluye herramientas como procesador de textos, hoja de calculo, presentaciones, herramientas para el dibujo vectorial y base de datos. Esta disponible para muchas y diversas plataformas, como Microsoft Windows, sistemas de tipo Unix con el Sistema X Window como GNU/Linux, BSD, Solaris y Mac OS X. Esta pensado para ser compatible con Microsoft Office, con quien compite. Soporta el estandar [[OpenDocument|http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opendocument]] para el intercambio de datos, y puede ser utilizado sin costo alguno.

El advenimiento del estandar abierto ISO 26300, [[OpenDocument|http://es.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opendocument]], tiene todo el potencial de independizar los formatos de las aplicaciones y, a su vez, a los usuarios de su cautivismo a determinadas aplicaciones y sistemas. Contra este amplio movimiento del mercado la empresa hasta ahora dominante en la ofimatica propone un formato alternativo semiabierto.

En [[este documento|http://www.sromero.org/linux/pringao/Pringao_Howto.html]] veremos que es un pringao, es decir, alguien que le compra, instala o arregla un ordenador a un familiar, conocido o amigo sin cobrar, y que a partir de ese momento se convierte en un esclavo dedicado a mantener de por vida el equipo de aquel a quien ayudo (en teoria de forma puntual) desinteresadamente. Ademas este equipo lleva Windows (casi siempre) y es una cuna de problemas, dolores de cabeza y perdidas de tiempo.

[<img[GNU|topicgnu.gif]] El [[proyecto GNU|http://www.gnu.org]] (GNU es un acronimo recursivo para "Gnu No es Unix") comenzo en 1984 para desarrollar un sistema operativo tipo Unix completo, con la principal propiedad de ser Software Libre.

Las variantes del sistema operativo GNU que utilizan el kernel Linux son muy utilizadas. La gente a menudo se refiere erroneamente a estos sistemas como "Linux", cuando es mas preciso y util  llamarlos "GNU/Linux". Hay un kernel GNU en desarrollo, denominado el Hurd, que sera el llamado a sustituir al kernel Linux cuando este desarrollado.

Se dedican a reciclar ordenadores y los entregan de forma gratuita a ONG o Asociaciones sin animo de lucro, de ambito local, nacional e internacional, para que puedan ser reusados o reutilizados.

[[TiddlyWiki|http://www.tiddlywiki.com/]] es una aplicacion de tipo wiki basada en cliente que sirve perfectamente como libreta de notas personal. Esta escrita por Jeremy Ruston. Es un archivo HTML que contiene el codigo CSS y Java Script.

Ahora lo utilizo para recopilar informacion sobre las oposiciones al Cuerpo Administrativo de la Administracion General del Estado.
