Success of the Association Entomológica Insecol off Huelva: through two of its partners, Juan Jose Lopez Perez and Jorge García Casas, they present a new species for continental Europe "Calomera lunulata (Fabricius, 1781)", since they also are in the Island of Lampedusa, to the south of Sicily. After more than three years of investigation, without ningun type of subventions of the public or municipal administrations (in contact), supporting to the expenses the partners but jeopardizes, is arrived nowadays at this important finding, very complicated, being a family of Coleoptera cuts more and very well studied, Cicindelidae (Tiger Beetles, Escarabajos Tigres). This single Cicindela is in the "Lagoon of The Manto", in the Island of Saltes, Natural Park of Salt marshes of the Odiel, only alive population in all Europe, since it disappeared in the Island of Lampedusa a long time ago; being typical of the Chott North African. The association Entomológica Insecol, unique of these characteristics in the province of Huelva, is trying to make the first census of the Insects of the same one, identifying them and photographing them, as they better have other prospected provinces, but the economic limitations they are delaying it.
The scientific publication of: Lopez-Perez, J. J. and Garcia Casas J., 2006 - New species for Spain and the Iberian Peninsula, Calomera lunulata (F. 1781) (Coleoptera: Cicindelidae) this in evaluation in the Spanish Association of Entomolog (AEE from the 15-08-06)
After almost twenty years, a beach very visited has formed, of about 10 km in length and its growth this blinding the lagoon of "El Manto", by the action of invasive sands, urgently requires the fixation of sands.
GRATEFULNESS: The Preservative/Director of Salt marshes of the Odiel, Juan Carlos Rubio by the concession of entrance permissions and captures by Scientific reasons, to the Excmo. Mr. Rector Magfco. Prof. Dr. Francisco Jose Martinez Lopez, by its constant support, to the Dr Avv. Fabio Cassola (Italy) by the confirmation in the determination and bibliografica aid, to the Dr Arthur R. M.
